Overview

An ultrasonic humidifier uses a vibrating disc to throw a fine, cool mist that raises relative humidity quickly without heating the chamber. It is the most controllable way to hold high humidity in a fruiting space, especially in dry climates. Run through a timer or humidity controller rather than continuously.

Safety & handling

Standing water in the reservoir and tubing grows bacteria within days. Empty and dry the tank, and flush the tube after every session rather than topping it up.

Practical advice

Make sure the mist disperses before it reaches the fruit bodies. A direct stream soaks the caps and creates the mushy texture growers call wet bubble.
